Signy's Home Made Power Bars

By Signy Wilson

3 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup finely chopped dried apricots
1/2 cup finely chopped dried dates
2 tbsp sesame seeds
4 tbsp sunflower seeds
4 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp almond slivers
2 tbsp ground flax seeds
4 tbsp coconut
1 tsp cloves

In a large bowl, combine all of those dry guys and set aside.

Then in a large heavy saucepan, melt:
1/2 cup organic butter over low heat
Then stir in:
3/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon zest
1 1/2 tbsp molasses
2 tsp vanilla

Sometimes I melt in a dollop of almond butter too.

Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and stir in oat/fruit mixture.  Mix well.
Turn into a 13x9 inch greased baking pan; press mixture to form an even layer.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
Cut into bars while still warm.
Then allow to cool.

Everyone should carefully observe which way his heart draws him, and then choose that way with all his strength.
